LPP - Formulating a model

Simple Steps - In general
  • The first step in formulating a LP model is the textual description of the problem.
  • Then, the alternatives or decision variables of the problem are defined.
  • Next, the objective function and constraints of the model are constructed using the decision variables.
  • With this, the operations research model is organized according to the following general format:
Maximize or Minimize this: Objective function.

Subject to the following:
 Constraints.
